The idea was to experiment and create music and soundscapes that didn\u2019t fit in with their main musical outputs. In early 2007 they released their debut single Nordlicht, about a bar in Hamburg of the same name. It was followed by an eponymous debut album in March of that same year to critical acclaim and strong sales figures (even rendering them a short stay at the top of the Swedish album charts). A follow up, Nowy Port, named after a district in Gdansk, Poland, was released in April 2013, also to favorable reviews.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e4llskapet makes industrial music with the aggressiveness turned inward and the tempo considerably slowed down. It is music made in the shadows. If David Lynch\u2019s 2017 return to Twin Peaks was set in the Ruhr Area instead of the Pacific Northwest, S\u00e4llskapet would\u2019ve provided the soundtrack. It is also music to keep you company &#8211; on lonely walks through town, or on lonely train rides through European dusk. For this third album things are kind of the same, yet they really aren\u2019t. Even though S\u00e4llskapet have always planted their music firmly in European soil (or concrete, rather), with this album they dig even deeper. This is to a large extent courtesy of Berlin-based chanteuse Andrea Schroeder. Andrea, a renowned solo star in her own right with three stellar albums to prove it, provides eerie vocals and lyrics to eight of the albums nine tracks. Founding member and singer Th\u00e5str\u00f6m is no longer a permanent member of S\u00e4llskapet, and features on this release only as a duet partner on the driving and menacing L\u2019autostrada.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e4llskapet\u2019s third album is produced by S\u00e4llskapet and mixed by Michael Ilbert in Berlin\u2019s legendary Hansa Ton Studios. It is being released in April 2018 via BMG.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>S\u00e4llskapet (featuring<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>ANDREA SCHROEDER) \u2013 deutsch<\/h2>\n<p>Das schwedische Ambient-Industrial-Trio S\u00e4llskapet (schwedisch f\u00fcr \u201dGesellschaft\u201d oder \u201dGemeinschaft\u201d) wurde 2003 von den Alternative Rock-Veteranen Joakim Th\u00e5str\u00f6m (Ebba Gr\u00f6n, Imperiet, Peace, Love &amp; Pitbulls), Niklas Hellberg (All That Jazz, Peace, Love &amp; Pitbulls) und Pelle Ossler (Wilmer X) gegr\u00fcndet. Die langj\u00e4hrigen Freunde wollten experimentieren und Klanglandschaften erschaffen, die nichts mit ihrem musikalischen Tagwerk zu tun hatten.<\/p>\n<p>Anfang 2007 ver\u00f6ffentlichten sie die Single \u201dNordlicht\u201d, die von der gleichnamigen Bar in Hamburg handelt. Das kurz darauf im M\u00e4rz folgende Deb\u00fctalbum gleichen Namens wurde von Kritikern hoch gelobt und schaffte es kurzzeitig sogar an die Spitze der schwedischen Charts. Der Nachfolger \u201dNowy Port\u201d (nach dem Bezirk in Danzig, Polen, benannt) erschien im April 2013 und erhielt ebenfalls hervorrangede Kritiken.<\/p>\n<p>Die Musik von S\u00e4llskapet steckt voller nach innen gewandter Aggressivit\u00e4t in deutlich verlangsamtem Tempo. Sie wurde aus und im Schatten gemacht. W\u00fcrde David Lynchs \u201dTwin Peaks\u201d neu verfilmt und die Handlung vom pazifischen Ozean ins Ruhrgebiet verlegt werden, h\u00e4tten S\u00e4llskapet den perfekten Soundtrack dazu geliefert. Die Songs sind der ideale Begleiter auf langen Spazierg\u00e4ngen durch die Stadt oder bei einsamen Zugfahrten durch die europ\u00e4ische D\u00e4mmerung.<\/p>\n<p>Auf den ersten Blick \u00e4hnelt dieses dritte Album seinen Vorg\u00e4ngern, unterscheidet sich auf den zweiten jedoch&nbsp; komplett. Das ist insbesondere der in Berlin wohnenden S\u00e4ngerin und Songschreiberin Andrea Schroeder zu verdanken, die f\u00fcr ihre dunkle Altstimme bekannt ist. Schroeder, die bereits drei eigene herausragende Alben ver\u00f6ffentlicht hat, steuerte Gesang und Texte zu acht der neun Tracks bei.
